What should I wear the day of surgery?
Comfortable clothes, loose fitting sweats preferably button up shirt, flip-flops, slip on shoes or robe and slippers would be great too.

How long will I be in recovery after surgery?
Typically one hour, depending on type of anesthesia used.

When and what can I eat after surgery?
Typically we recommend clear liquids and a light diet (ex. broth, bread, saltine crackers) if not nauseated progress to a regular diet.

Why am I not allowed to eat before surgery?
To decrease the risk of aspiration during surgery.

What if I am breast-feeding?
Please discuss this issue with anesthesiologist, typically we recommend patients to pump and discard breast milk for 24 hours after surgery.

Should I take my medications the day of surgery?
You should check with your doctor. Medications may be taken with a sip of water.

What is my financial responsibility the day of surgery?
If it has not been met by the day of surgery,you will be asked to pay an remaining portion of your yearly surgery deductable. Please call the surgery center if you need this amount.

What kind of insurance does your facility accept?
